Step 1

Turn off the automatic fill valve and all equipment, place a bucket on a step where the bucket rim is at least a few inches above the water line.

Step 2

Place a heavy weight in the bucket and add water until the water level inside the bucket is equal to the water level in the pool.

Step 3

Leave the bucket and pool undisturbed for 48 hours, and then compare the water level in the bucket to the water level in the pool.

Results

If the water level in the bucket is noticeably higher than the water level in the pool, you may be losing water to a leak. If this is the case, contact us today for further assistance.

Please remember this is just an easy DIY tip to try and help you determine if you do have a leak in you pool. This test does not prove you do not in fact have a leak. This is only meant to be a helpful tool. There are many other areas of a pool that can be losing water, so if you need further assistance please give us a call.
